V4 reshaped the working tool around the reader’s main question—what rhymes here and why—while retaining the verified engine and corpus beneath it.
In brief
Rhyme cards moved ahead of secondary comparison, a three-column workspace improved desktop reading, and synchronized scrolling became optional. The redesign also introduced the current folio light and dark themes.
Put the evidence first
The redesign was not a change of costume alone. It made the rhyme groups visible earlier, then positioned source text and IPA as supporting evidence. Desktop and tablet layouts were tested, and the synchronized panes were given an opt-out because a convenience feature should not remove reader control.
Whole-play feedback was also made visible: a staged progress state reports assembly, analysis and completion. The feature remains experimental because its cost depends on the selected play. A technical introduction is available in the guide; the current limitations remain in the methodology.
Consequence
V4 proved that a presentation layer can improve scrutiny without changing an approved result. The version retained the known engine validation and corpus checks, and its design decisions now have a permanent, date-led home in the Build log.
